The Finance Committee is responsible for assessing undergraduate student perspectives through both qualitative and quantitative measures, while overseeing College Government budgets to ensure financial compliance, accountability, and informed allocation of the Senate ledger. The committee maintains jurisdiction over the College Governments Reserve Pool, distributing funds through regular allocations meetings and developing clear guidelines to support a transparent and equitable budgeting process.

The committee is composed of two Co-Chairs and includes representation from each college government, with each college appointing one elected senator to serve—except the College of Arts and Sciences, which may appoint two due to its size. Each at-large party may also appoint one senator to the committee. The Finance Committee meets regularly to allocate funds and, when necessary, may have co-chairs approve funding requests if the committee is unable to convene. Allocation decisions may be appealed to the Senate floor, subject to a simple majority override.

In addition, the committee may recommend temporary funding restrictions for non-compliant college governments, including suspension or conditional release of funds and increased financial oversight measures. The Finance Committee also convenes the annual CSF negotiation process with assistance from the Senate Chair, bringing together all CSF-funded student organizations—including Student Government, CAB, college governments, residence hall associations, Allocations Board, and Club Sports—each with one vote except Allocations Board, which holds two.

The Finance Committee Chairs are responsible for attending Senate and committee chair meetings, conducting research assigned by the Senate Chair or senators, and forming subcommittees as needed. They assist in managing the Senate general ledger and committee budgets, support financial oversight and accuracy across all Senate operations, and conduct consultations with organizations seeking funding. Chairs may also remove committee members for failure to meet constitutional obligations and are responsible for producing a transition document for incoming leadership before the end of the academic year.
