Our Story

RhettRockz is Boston University Student Government’s largest annual event. Launched in 2026 under the BridgeToBU administration, the festival is a collaborative effort between the Executive Board and the Campus Activities Board. That year, RhettRockz became BU’s first-ever student-led music festival, selling out Agganis Arena with pop star Zara Larsson as the headliner. Nearly 6,000 students attended, while approximately 15,000 attempted to purchase tickets simultaneously.

With the launch of RhettRockz, Boston University Student Government hosted its first-ever Battle of the Bands. The event welcomed more than 400 students and featured nine student bands competing for the opportunity to open for Zara Larsson at RhettRockz 2026. The competition also served as the official headliner announcement for the festival. Following the performances, students voted to select the winner, with Enrico earning the opening slot.
