In 2026, a student performer flew his family in from Singapore to watch him play in front of 5,500 classmates, his biggest crowd ever. A senior designer turned her work on this festival into a career. Six student bands and three cultural dance groups shared a stage and a night they’ll never forget.

That’s what RhettRockz is: students giving each other something to remember.

As we look toward 2027 and Student Government’s 100th year, we’re launching the RhettRockz 100 Fund to secure this tradition for generations to come. We want to welcome more students, more dance groups, and more bands across every genre, and create a full-campus takeover for all 18,000 undergraduates. But with university cuts shrinking student life, this tradition needs people who believe in it. Your gift will keep these moments alive for the Terriers who come next.

Our Story

RhettRockz is Boston University’s largest student-led event, designed to transform the spring concert into something the whole campus can call its own. Launched in 2026, it combines live music, student talent, and interactive activations, headlined by Grammy-nominated artist Zara Larsson, to create a day that reflects the energy and creativity of the BU community. From the first note to the last, it’s powered by students.

With the launch of RhettRockz, Boston University Student Government hosted its first-ever Battle of the Bands. The event welcomed more than 400 students and featured nine student bands competing for the opportunity to open for Zara Larsson at RhettRockz 2026. The competition also served as the official headliner announcement for the festival. Following the performances, students voted to select the winner, with Enrico earning the opening slot.
